The classical shape of the building for aircraft equipment is a rectangular building with gates and a flat roof. The cost of such structures is extremely high since a flat roof requires reinforced concrete and tall columns. And the height is dictated not only by the height of the opening, but also by the slopes, and the maintenance height of the gates, because they have to be assembled from above. Classic aircraft hangar is a construction of huge volume, tons of concrete, and metal structures. Naturally, this affects the price. Another solution is the frame-and-tent technology, which is used for the construction of most aircraft hangars. It is much cheaper, but only one aircraft can be accommodated.

 

Our specialists have developed a fundamentally new type of aircraft hangar, which combines the advantages of both the classic version and the frame-and-tent, with the ability to accommodate multiple aircraft in one structural volume, while the cost of construction and materials are almost 2 times lower compared to the classical.

Thanks to space-planning solutions, the area is used as efficiently as possible with independent exits for equipment, and the use of an innovative type of enclosing structures "flexible sandwich" allows to reduce the project time and build warm structures with modern ventilation, air conditioning, and lighting systems that can be used not only for storage of aviation equipment but also for repair and maintenance.

 

In 2020, our aircraft hangar project won the "Power of Metal" competition in the "Typical Project" nomination for the best solutions for the use of steel in design and construction.
